(in the distance the mercury child plays while her golden color supervisor feels a sudden and involuntary pain, it snorts and approaches, “Breigna—“ before it finishes the mare-child turns her head and laughs. “we are safe,” she smiles wickedly, “mother watches us.” The earth around them rises and shields them, their bodies overcome by soil and moss…)
”Are you safe my beloved Echidna?”
”I am Mother,”
”Is he?”
”Feme is protected as well.”
and silence.
------
The smoldering flames burn the earth and sea, Gaia’s earthen legs are unaffected, and her lungs process the smoke as a plant would; she chuckles, watching the fiery wrath-god and his bizarre glory. She feels nothing more then laughter, malice and hatred, “I told you to burn it down, and you did. Beautiful.” She smiles, an eye cast to the burning pines where her children lay safe beneath the earth. She looks out across Solira at the fainting children and the few dying creatures; she watches the withering earth and feels a pang of jealously. But alas, she looks down, noticing the scalded plants upon her flesh and how the dirt turns to mud. She waits, standing for hours admiring the burning earth…
(the children struggle and choke, only one affected by the burns, the other hardening her body and bathing herself in her own fire. they slumber peaceably, or at least it would seem that way. but it is suddenly the custodian wakes, and he frets, panicking and ripping himself free of the earth. she charges, “AISLAE” it cries, smoke and dust filling it’s lungs, it rushes to the shore where the ferocious saber cat struggles, without hesitation it falls beside the creature… both fainted.)
------
They wake not long after; they wake to piles of silvery ash and sand, to painful howls and infuriating sobs. Breigna rises from her hide away unscathed, her flesh glistening and pristine. She does however feel a slight sensation of curiosity when her companion does not get up, and she realizes he is gone. She panics, her bind eyes rolling around as she screams, she screams and stumbles, frantic and unable to control herself she lunges head on into a pile of embers, roaring in agony as her flesh sears and burns. She rolls, unable to move and walk, finding herself stumbling around as she regains her footing. The black ash stains tarnish her otherwise moon white body and now blemishes where fire has burnt into her flesh and wood splinters in the wound. She however is lucky, finding herself walking straight into the circle of people, her blue eyes looking around and praying to see something. “I can’t find my brother!” she cries, unaware the circle of people is really a circle of tree stumps. “Brother!” she cries and whines, shivering and in pain… she cries.
He wakes near the boiling ocean, the saber cat’s body standing above his. He immediately notices the burnt patches of fur and flesh, the wounds and pain in the beast,. He pushes himself up, untouched by burns or blemishes aside from ash stain, he touches the cat, gently passing his element over him and healing the great beast. “There,” he says, soothing and glancing at the refreshed beast. He turns his eyes, not far off they gather, he walks to them, unaware of the conversation before, “Pardon me,” it says, “Have you seen my sister?” he is worried, and an eye cast to Wyvern and Fenris, he nods his head, and offers a smile, “Mother, Sister.” He says an offers a smile, but alas he hears the growling cat. An ear turned as he glances back at the incoming beast.
------
She comes, simply and easily, glancing at Wyvern and back to the group. “Where’s your sister?” she says glancing at Nuitari, her eyes narrow and he shivers, “Lost.” He says, and she sneers cruelly, he back turned as she walks to the wood. “I’m going to find my daughter, and then I’m taking her where I know she will be safe.” She walks, leaving a shivering Nuitari and her monsterous cat.
