Drip, drip, drip from the bottom of her belly, down her appendages into puddles around her hooves. It clumped bits of her mane together, streaming from the pointed tips. Huyana did not shake as Lycoris did, as most would when drenched. She relished the soppy feeling and didn’t even want to move for fear it would shed the water from her more quickly. So it was she stood like a polish, blue statue as Lycoris shied into her, Huyana only laughing brilliantly. Nothing about the rain frightened her, it never had. Her mother would always scream at her when she’d stare into the raging skies as a foal, mouth open, drinking in the rain, dripping from head to toe. H U Y A N A

But it was natural to be frightened of lightning and thunder, especially for her particular element. But the roan did not flinch, staring only appreciatively into the gray mass squirming above them. She breathed in the scent of the rain, taking it in deep, loving it. Only when Lycoris made an exclamation over the shining plate of twisted glass did Huyana blink away her thoughts, idle eyes drifting towards the same spot as Lycoris rubbed up against her, mixing sand and hair into the wet figure of Huyana. Tilting her head she left the side fo the air mare, stopping short of stepping on the glistening sheet. Leaning her nose down to it she ran her muzzle across its smooth surface, the rain making pleasant, tinking sounds as it hit upon it. ”I’m not sure.” Huyana said truthfully, glancing back to the mare with a flick of her black tail. ”It’s beautiful though..” Huyana had never been on a beach when lightning hit, had never seen glass formed from heated sand. She glanced up at the clouds, squinting into them. It didn’t make sense that it fell with the rain, it seemed too fragile to survive such a drop. And to be unearthed by the rain? It seemed more possible, but the rain hadn’t removed much of the sandy top surface. She tilted her head towards it again, confused. ”It’s perfect though… Ariel would love this…” But she couldn’t just give Ariel a sheet of pretty glass, how would she carry it?
