For dreams and things that never are.
A shot cries out in the steady and calm darkness as night’s tender grasp settles over the well-manicured façade of Solira. The great beyond above is sparkling tonight, celebrating in the asphyxiating lack of light – light that had just been so recently strangled from the solitary depths of the lands. The stars shine a brilliant kind of glimmering shimmer as they stand so proudly alongside the sterling dappled moon. The pallid moon’s intrepid gaze weaves around the excessive barriers of the trees, hindered by the depths of the thick forest until finally it reaches the sea’s salty waters. There, just beyond the reach of the light stands Courage in all of her beautiful glory. As she steps forward from the furiously groping shadows, her head is high. The golden mare is a proud creature, and it shows so resolutely upon her passionately patriotic visage. As a pristine hoof places itself in the night’s spotlight, crossing the thin and nearly invisible line between light and dark, her eyes of such fierce falconry flow across the lands. Somewhere, in the lessening distance, there might have been a disturbance in the night. But Courage is not afraid. To any enemy, she might appear as something of an easy target, but they would be gravely mistaken; she is something altogether mighty and though it doesn’t sparkle on her every muscle and crevice, she is strong.
As she moves forward in her silent splendor, the light cascades down her already glowing golden body. Solira bends and shuffles around her, wrapping in her presence as she walks amongst its inhabitants as if she were part of the waters of the ocean itself. She might in this moment remind some of her mother, the immortal Genesis. Her mother has always been a fighter; there is no way around that. And Courage is like her, in that she is a tragic hero as well, fighting for those that have not the skills to fight for themselves. And as she walks from the darkness, the hopes of Solira rest upon her shoulders. And she is not planning on ever letting them down. Being someone to anyone; that’s what a lot of people out there strive for. But for Courage, the world is a beckoning bother of brothers and sisters that just want attention. These days, the world is a cruel and sadistic thing manipulated by the lies and tarnished reputations of “glorious” leaders and corrupted shards and relics. But Solira is different. Solira, to her, is a beautiful thing that has flourished under the watchful eye of the elements. Her eyes sparkle as they linger along the beauty littered landscape of Solira. She doesn’t think she’ll ever look at another sunset in Solira in just a short while, feeling the warmth of sunlight prickling along her skin as she walked on a well-lit path. As she moves through the lands, she holds an angelic glow about her. She is the angel of Solira; treat her as such, for she is an infinite source of goodness and warmth. And that was when she stumbled across an unfamiliar face; instantly she approaches with a smile. Her gaze ran across the alien figure, shady in the dank corridors of this night. ”Hello there, I’m Courage,” she said through a smile that might make one think it was morning again. ”I don’t believe we’ve met. I’m a scholar here in Solira. Have you been here long?” Her eyes adjust finally to the limited light as the dark forest of her thick lashes closed over her eyes and opened to reveal her blue eyes with flames flickering across while the water around her eyes continued to ripple.
