Solira: The Ocean: Saphira

The skewbald paint was even more sheepish than usual today, although he knew now the mist had caused him to attack what turned out to be a tree - and come off the loser if the wounds on his forelegs and left shoulder were anything to attest to. He'd spent the rest of the day between Desreal and the Academy to try and limit his injuries to just the one that day but it seemed cowardly to hide away from his homeland for too long and so he had returned home around mid afternoon, just as the mist was appearing to thicken.

It was hardly surprising then that when he saw the familiar outline of the paint mare, the former commander of Solira that he was suspicious, sure that the mist was causing him to hallucinate again - though he hoped this was with a slightly less painful outcome and so he approached more carefully than previously. He was no match for Saphira in a fight, he'd end up way worse for wear if it was really the siren he was stalking towards and not a mere illusion of the mist. He cannot hide his delight at seeing the siren back in Solira though suspicion still clouds his voice as he speaks, uttering very few words for the normally vocal skewbald. "Saphira? It is really you isn't it?" His dark eyes eyeing her cautiously as he tries to convince himself that he's not just imagining the larger female before him - instead of just the mist continuing to cruelly play tricks upon him.

It's only when he ventures closer to brush his muzzle against hers that he feels it. Reeling back as though her lightning had made contact with his water but no such thing had happened and yet the rainbringer felt like it was shrieking at him. The rainbringer using it's lightning to ward the guardian away from the keeper; Conjuring up images of those lost, looking just as real as he himself was, by the shards to hold him back. His curiosity drove him onwards however - needing to assert that it was truly her or whether the mist was just continuing to play tricks upon him.

He knows about her claiming the shard from Datura but does not know whether the paint is aware of that the rainbringer chose him as its guardian - by now his stranger than usual behaviour has surely alerted her that something has changed about the smaller skewbald. If not the slow fading of his lightning and her air element the longer they remain in each others presence might be a more obvious indication that despite time being meaningless to the siren, things have most certainly changed since she left Solira.
