He sees her and immediately feels the embrace of who she is wrap around him. Kolun takes a long look at Marshall and then another at Zeke who he would whoop in a race amongst the waves, but not on land. The sea otter smiled slightly at the cheetah, turning instead to look at Courage, a bigger smile upon the little critters face. He knew Courage, was proud of her like he should be, they had both seen her as she rose through the ranks. Now she was Seer, only steps away from becoming an Oracle just like Marshall. It pleased them both. However, Marshall allows her to calm him, allows the fiery rage of his anger fall into ashes. He feels suddenly empty as he often does after feelings of great magnitude.
He could say nothing to her, knowing her to have been his anchor more times than he could count. He smiled at her finally, pulling her into a tight hug and then squeezing and holding her against him like a father would a daughter. For indeed, that is how he loved her and he loved her with his whole heart. He missed Ariel but he knew that the time she spent amongst the Wolves would be good for her. “Ah Courage, you do indeed live up to your namesake.” He smiled and finally released her. “I have an assignment for you.” And his eyes glitter mostly because of his happiness of her and for her have overcome his rational King side. “I need you to help in returning prisoners. I know there are others, but I know you will do well. If you need help have Huyana.” His smile fades and he looks momentarily to Zeke. “Ariel, Ill, and Irene have been taken from our shores. Return them please daughter?”
He looks back at her, smiling, his former self back in place just like that. “Congratulations upon your title. You have done well.” He looked towards her familiar with a teasing smile. “Not as water worthy as a sea otter but I think he fits you.” And of course he does, that it what familiars do.
