Huyana's charcoal head snapped from its quiet browsing along the salt-soaked grasses further from the shore. Amber eyes were wild with wonder and a glimmer of fear as her eyes swept towards the frenzied commotion. The ocean did not often burst into such tangible life - Huyana had not seen it rage and welcome so easily. She was still, a roan statue in the afternoon light. The grass clung to her tongue, staling her tastes as the command to chew was lost on the enveloping desire to see. See she did.
The ocean climbed and fell, raised and swept with arcs of lightning and sculpting hands of wind. And from its core, as if born from the Soliran tides themselves, the monochrome siren emerged from the watery capsule. Huyana was awestruck, startled, curious and mildly jittery with a mixture of fear and excitement. It was something strange and unknown to her, something incredible. Her water churned erratically within her, skipping through her veins like a sugar-high toddler. The wad of grass was choked down as the blue roan struck forward towards the gathering masses.
Her brain ran over countless possibilities, her eyes acutely watching the procession of acquired bodies to this seaborn temptress. A silver stallion drew alongside her first, quickly; already with her Huyana dared to assume. An onyx beast approached them, stoic in his movements but awkwardly relaxed near them as well. This relaxed Huyana; these were not some all mighty invaders come to rape and pillage. A few theories got tossed out the window. A pale mare approached; Huyana recognized her faintly, a ghost of a memory in her time spent here. And then another patchwork soliran approached, a stranger in all ways to Huyana's memory - new perhaps.
She approached not long after him, her mind ticking restlessly away, her water willing her to throw herself towards this ocean drenched mare. Huyana bat it away impatiently, annoyed by its childish impatience. She settled quietly in an open pocket, hazel eyes skipping between everyone, all strangers to her, before the warm gaze fixated upon Saphira. The reasons for deciding to approach now seemed ridiculous to her, and for a brief moment Huyana panicked and wanted to shy away from the mass assembly. She could run before they caught her, and she could hide in a burning shame along the thin forest. A stronger part of her soothed her nerves and she stayed, thought she remained quiet. She wanted to observe, to understand before she flouted her ignorance. But this, was important, she knew, and she was curious.
"I am Huyana, a scholar here." Her clear, watery voice murmured audibly. The idea of smiling occurred to her, but it seemed shaky so she let her lips fall back to an impassive pucker. "I would welcome you, strangers, but you already have a party assembled." The hesitant smile came anyway. "I'm here then, only to meet you, and wonder at the collection you've garnered so easily." Honesty was always easier in times of doubt Huyana had found. Her gaze wavered between the overo and the sterling stag. Questions spun wickedly in her mind, but Huyana remained still and hushed, content to wait and watch.
