If peyote realized the effect his comment had on Desdemona, he gave no indication. As it was, HER question stopped him dead in his tracks, and he'd already been reeling from the first comment. Loti, his mum, was around? It was almost as if he didn't hear Desdemona's question. He shook his head, as if to clear the thoughts from it physically, and gave Des a confused look? "Huh? Oh." Back to the task at hand. "I.." Peyote hesitated, unsure of how to answer. "I never really met him. I'm told his name is Gecko?" The younger stallion shrugged, at a loss for words. there were so many questions on the tip of his tongue, and none of them wanted to come out as words, it seemed. "Do you know where my mother is?" that one did, though.
