NOBODY'S LAUGHING NOW; GOD'S GRACE LOST AND THE DEVIL IS PROUD Sometimes, everything hits you all at once. First, Kratos’ son is born. This is a good thing, but brings with it a strange set of emotions that he’s never understood before. Kratos has never been one for foals. But the moment he laid eyes on Connor, he realized right then and there that he would die for that bundle of fur. This was a rather disturbing revelation. And then, Kratos’ sister returns. Kratos missed her. So all in all, Kratos is unable to hate everyone except Courage at this point. He likes his mother, Notte. His son, Connor. His sister, Irene. He hates almost everyone else, but, y’know, gotta walk before you can run. The ocean is in turmoil. He notices this without even particularly caring; he flicks an ear toward its chaotic, billowing crests, standing up to his chest in the frothing sea until he notices the cause of this. A bolt of Lightning strikes out to sea, and Kratos turns to see Saphira running up the beach, followed by Kratos’ father. To Saphira and Alshain, he only dips his head – it’s a casual nod of a greeting, but in that motion the young black stallion welcomes them to Solira. I mean, for what it’s worth from the antisocial stallion. We all know they only keep him around for aesthetic appeal. Kratos lifts his gaze to his father. “Irene’s back,” he says, with a flick of his ear. He wonders what Irene will make of Alanna, and Dusan, and all the other eighty thousand members of the extended Alshain family. Thinking about it makes Kratos miss Kyprioth. But just for a second. Y’know. Alshain nods. “Good. Baraqel’s a Gold.” Kratos narrows his eyes, his tail lashing against his haunches with an expletive muttered more loudly than he usually speaks in general. He shakes his head, drops his muzzle to rub his knee irritatedly. “I hate you all.” But there’s a latent message in that four-word sentence that is fast becoming Kratos’ catchphrase – anyone who has a problem with Saphira and Alshain is going to have to go through Kratos to kick them out.
