Now, that isn’t to say that he didn’t appreciate it. He was quite taken with the perfect newness of everything around him, taken with how the ocean seemed to breathe and cast its waters upon the sand, taken with how the hardy grass here bent and bowed at the wind’s slightest request. He was even interested in the unfamiliar horses around him, though his intrigue manifested itself much like that of a child at a zoo, content to lean on a safe guardrail while lions and leopards pace in boredom on the opposite side of the fence. Here, the lions weren’t so securely housed, and so he looked on with an imperceptible flutter of nervousness in his golden breast. As it often does, danger came from the rear. Cat Sídhe started badly and squared off against Lithium before realizing it had been another horse and thus no danger to him. “Oh dear,” his words came in a breathless rush, “I’m dreadfully sorry, I didn’t mean –” He paused. “Of course I’m not Lithium,” the stallion said, voice ringing with some puzzlement. He eyed the other horse, who seemed not in the least bit ruffled by their most unpleasant meeting. Taking a breath, he continued (more slowly this time): “My name is Cat Sídhe.” There was nothing for it; the palomino stallion could not mask his unease, but he was courteous all the same. He cast a furtive glance behind him (in case any more horses intended to wander unexpectedly into his hindquarters) and said no more on the matter. “Hello, I suppose.” He wasn’t exactly sure what to say next. Cat Sídhe is not what one might call a conversationalist, but he does try.
