He smiles when she speaks to him, turning his head so his lips can brush along her barrel. He nips her lightly there, never enough to hurt but more in playful banter. He knows, she knows, that he would never ask for someone to hate Saphira, just because he had made things more complicated between them. If it was anyone’s fault, it was his own. He sighed softly, reaching out to touch her again gently this time. Courage was his daughter, in every way but through blood and sometimes blood didn’t mean a thing. He listened to her as he was apt to do and knew that everything she said was the truth. Sometimes it was just harder listening and doing than it was listening and wallowing. He smiled at her, pressed his lips to her cheek. “Ah my Courage.” He says softly.
“What would I do without you?” And with a smile he danced away from her manipulating the water into a bubble that he pushed towards her, reminiscing about the time in the Academy. He smiled and watched her, seeing the flames flickering beneath the water. His Water longed to douse it but he did not allow it, holding onto the restraints with a tight fist. He was not a bloodthirsty stallion and so he did not allow his Element to do as it wished (unless he was angry). He tried to just forget the pain that he felt and enjoy the presence of his adopted daughter.
