He looked at her and there was so much sadness in his heart, in his eyes that he felt like he was suffocating. He wrapped his neck around hers, this daughter-mare he thought so highly of; this mare he cursed Fantome for abandoning and hurting. He closed his eyes, held her tightly against his chest and did not move for a long, quiet time. He felt her speak, felt her throat rumble and had to open his mind to hear her. He smiled slightly at her words, she was here for him. He released a breath he hadn’t known he was holding, finally stepping back and away from her just a step. Water surrounded them suddenly, hiding them and cocooning them in a bubble fashion. He smiled slightly as it did so, hiding them away from the rest of the world.
With a sigh, he released his hold on his memories, on his emotions, showing Courage why indeed he had been so heartsick in the past weeks. It showed the pain of Pirate and those abandoning the beach, it showed his love for Saphira and finally it showed him and the sapphire eyed siren standing alone in Desreal. Their words were muffled but it was enough, just their actions. “I told her I loved her.” He said softly, his most recent pain bubbling up. “I knew she loves Alshain.” His eyes searching for something to lock onto, finally he found the ocean. “It was stupid. I knew she wouldn’t mean it if she said it back, not like I did. Now she knows, and I feel like I messed up our friendship.” He sighed softly. “It was beautiful before, now I wonder what it will be like.” And his element surged around them, their element mingling as it did so easily, the bubble around them falling to land and be swallowed up by their bodies.
