Posted by the Oracle; dreamsong on November 30, 2008, 10:28 am Cho is singing as they walk along the beach – a beautiful child’s melody in her silly human words, pausing every now and then as she reaches down to poke something foreign on the earth, then beginning anew as she continues by Amadi’s side. The song is quite broken and has no chorus or definite tune, but there is still a unique beauty to the toddler’s melody that she smiles with as they walk. Just a couple years ago the Oracle believed (when she miscarried her second foal) that joy was not a luxury she would ever know - one day Amadi will tell Choyo she saved her life.

Their stroll is broken by the sound of her name on the wind, and the Dreamsinger raises her head and whistles in response to the figure approaching them. Gecko? She breathes softly as he touches her neck, and her lips find his shoulder, placing a gentle nip on his skin. I am real, it says, without the need for the same words.
Cho has stopped her singing, and seeing this embrace between the two horses, runs forward to Amadi’s left fore and pulls softly on her leg. Who is this, mommy? Comes her sweet voice through Amadi’s mind, and the mare lowers her muzzle to the child dearly, lipping at her black hair. He is an old friend, she tells Cho, and the little girl moves forward slowly and places her hand softly on Gecko’s near foreleg.
Benza? She asks him in her high-pitched songvoice, looking up at him with clear brown eyes. She does not wait for an answer (and would not understand the answer without Amadi’s help anyway) but begins to pet the stallion’s knee carefully, unintentionally rubbing dirt all over his leg with her sand-covered mittens.
This is Choyo. Amadi explains with a shy smile, a hint of laughter kissing her bright eyes. I found her some time ago, and she has stayed with me ever since.
Have you been well? She asks him next, though from the intensity of emotion conveyed to her by his touch, she worries for the answer.
