Jimmy Carter was and is a nice man. Has done a lot of very good humanitarian things. Those gestures in no way reflect the reality of his Presidency. What I remember is, runaway inflation, gas rationing, and Iranian embassy hostages. Oh.. I also had a beer with Billy in the Ionosphere Club at Washington National Airport. A real "good old boy".
