I've lived in Charlottesville (which we called C-ville) and Kansas City, known as KC, so I think it's natural to have a shortened
nickname for home. It will always be Portsmouth to me, but "P-Town" or anything else you call it will sound affectionate and full
of P-ride when it is spoken by fine people like you, Janet. And I think it's those without the Pride that Alex objects to.
