A year or so ago I posted a note asking if anyone knew the name of Roger Clark's theme song, featuring a really fantastic trumpet solo by Harry James. Clyde Nordan was able to send me a tape of the song, but I still didn't know the song name and the female vocalist. Thanks again, Clyde!
I'm very happy to report that the song's name is "Strange What A Song Can Do" and the singer is Marion Morgan. For discography fans, the song was recorded 6/24/46. Marion Morgan sang for Harry's band for only 17 months, before suddenly quitting. She did a few singles after that, and a few local TV shows, then married and raised a family.
WWHS alumni who remember Roger Clark can get a copy of the song on a CD titled, "Sentimental Souvenirs", which should be available from Amazon or other dealers.
