The missing man formation is a awesome sight to witness. Having served in the USAF I witnessed a few. Now to the lighter side. Pilots have been known to have a little fun when performing sortie training missions.(1)'74 Two RF-4C Phamtoms from Shaw AFB buzz a sail boat in the Alantic Ocean off Myrtle Beach. Owner of sail boat retired USAF Colonel. When those 2 planes landed you should have seen the welcoming committee to greet them.(2)'75 Two pilots flying a T-38 trainer in Hawaii decide to get a birds eye view of Diamond Head from inside the bowl. They got a pretty good view. The problem came when trying to get out not enough air inside Diamond Head to create thrust for plane to achive height to get out.The plane crashed inside the bowl, but pilots ejected safely. I was at both of these bases when these incidents happened.
