Hi, Fred. I don�t think it's quite accurate to describe my view of our nation's racial differences as simply "blaming whites." As you know, I've attended conferences at which African students expressed surprise that relatively few African Americans take advantage of the opportunities available to any black person in the United States. On the other hand, I also recognize that the Tuskegee syphilis study didn't end till 1972. More importantly, American blacks and whites just haven't unified as well as would be desirable.
You're right that Bill Cosby and Rev. Wright are prominent figures addressing black uplift in different ways -- indeed, opposing ways. That's especially relevant because both are black. What's especially interesting about this website is that it's people'd by those who share a high school environment rather than skin color. I wondered if we could share different viewpoints with the goal of better identifying one or two ways of unifying better.
