Shortly after The Final Tour on August 20, 2005, the Portsmouth School System turned the building and property over to the City of Portsmouth in September 2005. The City had a consulting engineering firm prepare a cost estimate for tearing down the classroom and gym sections, and making alterations to the exterior of Willett Hall. As you can see, no actions have been taken. Aside from funding issues, there could be other reasons why the City has not moved on this...but I haven't kept up with the latest happenings on this issue.
