I didn’t know you were the Wilson High Grammar Inspector. My engineering degree and subsequent years in the profession left little time to polish up those skills. My apologies to Mr. Webster!
My statement, you so graciously republished, was accurate then and accurate now. I believe if you lived your life in Portsmouth from the time you left WWHS until now… plain and simple… You missed out on plenty. Just ask those who left… like me… if they have any regrets? What else would one expect you to say? You chose P-town and are stuck with that choice. Some of our fellow classmates need to come out of the “reader’s woodwork” and tell you and all the others who chose "the P-Town path"… how green it’s been over here on the other side.
I hadn’t read my entry since I posted it last year. I didn’t realize how right I was !!! I wonder if these kinds of thought processes existed between those who left Europe in the 17th & 18th centuries and came to America. I can hear it now… “You made a terrible mistake leaving the old country and moving to those wild Americas”.
I never envisioned asking a handful of off the wall, off the subject, commentators to “zip it” would get everyone’s pants in a wad! I can also see from others who have joined in… I’m not the only one out here who recognizes mindless chatter as a waste of a good resource! Draw your own conclusions…
When I bowed out sometime back… it was only as a contributor… not a reader. I try to read this message board at least once a week… and until all the “mindless muck” started to fill these pages, found the site informative and entertaining. I just wanted to let the guilty culprits know they were killing the proverbial goose! Give it a rest means just that… take a break… not jump off a building! Lighten up fellows!!!
