Many things there to be justifiably proud of, and I'm sure that "Lefty" is proud, also. The fact that he made a big deal out of having coached Messrs. Carrell and MacMillan speaks to the pride "Lefty" feels in them and their accomplishments.
What I liked about "Lefty" was that his love for and mastery of the game was genuine and that he, to my recollection never dishonored the game through his comportment or utterances...never tossed a chair across a court during a game, never choked, or otherwise assaulted one of his players, or stuffed a fan in a garbage can, or punched-out a facility employee who wanted to close a practice facility at the appointed time. And still had winning teams, great teams which produced great young men and future citizens. Mr. Carrell's bio attests to this latter...
