I am deeply saddened by the recent loss of two classmates and high school friends, Rozzy Riven and Carl Vaughn. They were two of the nicest and most talented people I have known. I grew up across the street from Rozzy in Waterview. As children, my older sister Robin (class of '69) and her used to produce dance recitals in my parents' garage and charge admission to parents and neighbors. I served as the unpaid stage manager. Carl and I shared the stage at Willett Auditorium in a couple of Mrs. Brady's productions and we were close friends through the Hi-Y organization. We cruised McDonald's and hung-out at the beach together with classmates Ralph "Bucky" James and Alan Bartlett. Carl was a also a gifted singer with the Presidents and First Ladies. I recall that both Rozzy and Carl had great personalities and wonderful senses of humor. They had great respect for everyone with friendships that transcended popularity and social status. I'm proud and privledged to have know them and consider them a great loss to our alumni family.
