Another good bait is the Storm Wildeye swimbait in 6 or 9 inches. Both come in Trout color and they have an awesome action even on a slow retrieve. In most stores that carry them the 6 inch is $2.99 for a pack of 3 and the 9 is $3.99 for one. They are prerigged and weighted but i tinker with them a little. I put a stinger hook at the tail since a fish bit off the whole back end one disappointing tuesday. The stinger consists of a decent sized treble hook conected to a 6 or 9 inch metal leader(lets call it the stinger leader). I first slip the lure on to my main leader then I slide the stinger leader on. I then attach the hook on to the back of the tail with two points and have the third point up facing in the same direction as the main hook. Its vary important that the stinger leader be loose when attached otherwise it will hamper the lures action. You want the lure's tail to swing freely which will cause disturbance with it's thump. I usually use a stinger leader the same length as my bait. This bait has caught some big skis for many people and if I had the stinger hook i would have had a chance too.
