When I started fishing for Tigers I used "true" muskie baits solely. I have since discovered that all sizes work from time to time. Generally speaking I start out in the spring using bass-sized baits and go to larger baits as the season progresses. Matching the size (and color) of the baitfish in the impoundment at that time of year seems to be an effective way way of catching them.I have found that Tigers quite often can be caught at the same places as Bass and will hit bass baits. This time of year I use bass sized jigs, medium (6") minnow type lures and slightly larger (8") crankbaits. My favorite lures this time of year are Believers. I like to cast the smaller 6" Believers and troll the 8" ones. My favorite color is perch. This time of year I fish the edge of the weeds and dropoffs in my lake. In addition, we have deep underwater trees - I fish above them for suspended fish. Make sure you have a good "plug knocker" if you fish underwater trees. Thanks for visiting!! Tom
