Posted by Bill on 5/1/2002, 12:09 pm Ok, now that I have an idea what tigers will hit on and where they should be as the water warms up I have a couple questions on tackle. I guess it would be stupid not to use a steel leader right? But would you get more hits without one or doesn't it matter with muskies. I would use a monofiament leader but there is very little heavy tackle shops around here and I can't find line big enough. I can't even find a place that sells bucktail big enough for muskies. During the spring I heard they are seen swimming with their heads out of the water ... has anyone else seen this? So far at the resevoir that I have focused on has plenty of trout but I haven't seen any baitfish would this indicate that I focus on trout colored lures? Right now I use a 6" trout husky jerk a perch shad rap a 4" firetiger countdown a perch and shad colored popper for the mornings and a varity of spoons and kastmasters. My collection of lures is getting bigger and more expensive and not even so much as a follow.
Thanks Tom for the help.
