RICE BUGS > !! After watching THAI personnel snagging BUGs, popping Heads, eating & Smiling, CREW CHIEF got Smart, Pointing Light Stands UP, the BUGs would Fly into the Beam, Fly DOWN Smashing onto tarmac, CHIEF Bagged & SOLD to Thai's @ $5/BAG. Among our too few joys "Running" our "BIRDS" @ 100% at the TRIM PADS @ remote North End, keeping Noise far from inner Base.
F-105, F-111, & EB-66 Full-Power TESTs @ TRIM PADs @ NW end of Runway. While TANKER TRUCKs Sprayed damn near Nightly destroying Foliage (Sapper Cover), the Wet/Oily substance coating Arms, Face, & Uniforms. Bitter-Sweet-Pungent smell (& flavor) as you would taste it 2 days later still on your Tongue, it permeated all, even after Showering & Washing Clothes TWICE, only to become Soaked again, the next Night. SPRAYING Only done at Night, usually just after Sunset to Maximize Saturation into Foliage and Soil (11 Hrs); avoiding Daytime Evaporation; Anyone having Photo's of TRIM PADs... Please Share for mutual cases.
GOOD LUCK to ALL THAI VETs, 47+ Yrs. awaiting for "Truth's" to Surface, long-overdue this GOVT. & Country WE Served, acknowledge and award Compensations > (to OLDEST G.I.'s 1st , having the least days left on Earth; not 5 YRS Later, after 3+ APPEALS; the VET long- since Passed Away)... Attrition - "One Less Check for the GOVT. to Cut !"
