I realize that it is next to impossible to prove "boots on the ground" in RSVN since AF travel records are virtually non-existent. My 2nd records request to NPRC came today. Unfortunately for me, it yielded a 2 in. thick stack of nothing related to my SEA service - I specifically asked for duty assignment/travel orders for SEA. I arrived in Thailand on 10 July 73 and served at Korat until my transfer to Takhli on 19 Aug 73. Not a single mention of the service there or my TDY from Takhli to Utapao several week before I left on 2 July 74. No orders, but one single document showing that I reported to Takhli on 19 Aug 73. Surely there’s a record somewhere of where I was from 10 July – 19 Aug 73.during that time. As you can tell, I'm ticked because there were documents that showed a request from VA. What infuriated me is they requested NPRC to "provide documents showing exposure to herbicides". NPRC response "no records of exposure to herbicides". Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. They have not denied my claim yet, I’m sure it’s getting close. Any ideas on how to work around the “no orders/no travel vouchers” issue. Where could they be. Over & out.
Ok did you try defense finance records. If you look at some of the other posts you will see MIKE Haleys comments. I know it's a long shot but they may have your pay records. Amoung tem could be a combat pay record.
