I served on a number of TDY's from Yokota AB during 1965 ad 66. We were there before the 355th for a few months. When we first arrived we all stayed in a big Barracks that contained the mess hall, Club and medical clinic. We were back from the flightline quite a bit. The first tankers were KC 97's that came with us from Yokota. I think I may heve done two rotatios before the Hutches but the concrete and different types of Acft grew each time I served there.
We would spend 6 weeks there, one week back @ Yokota, two weeks in Osan, back to Yokota for a week or two and then back to Takhli. 6-12 hour days and half of it nights. My first two rotations were back to back as I replaced a guy named Novak who was sick. I was a 462-- Weapons Systems Specialist Bomb loader and Gun Plumber.
