Posted by Jim Agans on 7/11/2005, 7:12:18, in reply to "D.J. Mattasolio "Matt"" I served in Takhli in that time frame as a munitions person. There was a special bond between all of us who served in spite of the termoil regarding the Vietnam War and its espoused purpose. Guilt associated with this conflict is natural to a caring person. WWII was easy in this regard, they knew exactly why they were fighting. Frankly, most of us did not. I have learned to simplify it. We were called, and we served. We believed that our government knew what it was doing. In retrospect, it did'nt, but that in no way diminishes the bravery of those sent to fight. May your husband rest in peace. He earned it. Your name rings a bell. I have some slides that I am going to look through and post online. (We were not supposed to take pictures because we were not really there, TIC :-) but I did get some shots along the way. Maybe Matt is driving one of the THUDS in the pictures. God Bless, (Sgt.)
