In September of 1968 I left the resort and beach town of Minot North Dakota(Minot AFB)for the luxuries of Takhli Thailand. I was a security Policeman with the 355th SPS Squadron 1968-1969. Our Wing Commander at the time was Col. Horgan and Vice Wing Commander was Col. Drew. I think our Squadron Co. was a Cpt. Snyder. I pulled alot of duty at Wing Headquarters(Command Post) entry control point. Most of the guys I served with I don't remember. I'm terrible with names.
While I was there I remember an EB-66 crashing off the end of the runway. I pulled security on the wreckage, and an F-105 crashing at the end of the runway. No one survived either crash. I don't remember who the crew members were. I also don't remember the name of the Thud pilot. A mind is a terrible thing to lose! Anyway I would really like to hear from any one who might remember me, or was at Takhli the same time I was there. Bill Hicks Sgt(E4) TRTAFB 355th SPS . williamjhicks@bellsouth.net Were any of the SP's exposed to Agent Orange ? I have severe Asthma and Type II Diabetes.
