Re: Looking for ANY Bomb Loaders
Hi, Steve. I was there from May 72 to Oct 72. I was a 46250 bomb loader TDY from Holloman with the 49th MMS. I was a #2 and #4 man as needed with Tsgt Gary Knapp as my crew chief. I'm just starting my search for info to put together a case for AO disability. I worked the night shift from 7pm to 7 am and did a fair amount of end of runway, arm and dearm the F4's. Saw my first King Cobra while on eor duty. I'm pretty positive that I and anyone else doing the eor duty was exposed to AO. I've been through depression, memory and hearing loss, diabetes, neuropathy in both feet and hands, stage 3 colon cancer, etc. that no one else in my family has had. I'm looking for the same things as everyone else such as buddy letter(s) I would imagine. Feel free to use my name and info if you need it. My email is: gregbirky@gmail.com. I'm hoping to run into other bomb loaders from Holloman here as well. Unfortunately my memory is a bit foggy on little details such as most names. It stinks when I can't remember the names of those who I worked directly with at Takhli that summer. By the way, I was assigned to the 417th while at Holloman.
