I married a Thai girl, my age in 1979 in Bangkok. She was from Ban Mi, just down the rail line from Takhli. When she was 12, coming home from school she was raped by Thai soldiers.
I think when she was 15 she was sold to a black serviceman at Takhli by her mother. She became pregnant but the baby was removed as soon as it was born, it was a boy. Because it was black it was probably killed.
She bore me a fine son in bangkok in 1982 but the memory of her life has never left me. The war claimed many victims, and they were thai, vuetnamese and cambodian as much as American. You people revere your servicemen but forget that you were invaders and made many locals lives miserable.
Just thought I would pass that on. Judgment comes after we die of course.
