Thankyou for getting back to me. Yeah,,I remember the 442nd having some of the oldest F-111A's as did the 428th did. Hever, you do have to give the 428th good credit as they were the first ones to go over to Takhli back in 1968 to fight the VN War. In 1972, the 429th and the 430th went to Takhli for the tail end of the VN War.
However, as my twisted and warped mind seems to remember, I think that I may have seen a few, but not very many,Blue Tails show up over at Takhli in like sometimes around late August 1973. But they were only there for a "Short Time" (he-he).
(a small pun type joke there).
But,,I do know that there were NO 442nd green tails that were ever over there. I know some of the 442nd weenies tried to claim that they were, but they were not.
Anyway, I do know that F-111A bird 67-051 was a real sweet bird and had some of the longest tach time on it's SPU,s of all of the F-111A's.
Oh,,by the way,,, I have been to the F-111.net web sight many of times. And I also have an F-111A Avionics A-Shop web page somewhere on that very web sight. I think you have to go into the history pages and look up the VN War pages to find it.
Anyway,, it has been great to have chtted with you.
Oh,,I was at Nellis from Nov 1971 to Jan 1975, and TDY to Takhli from sept 72 to sept 73.
