I looked at Google maps at Takhli and there was quite a bit of construction since may 1964.I am assuming that NORTH is the top of the map. We were in a two room line shack at the short ramp with our 6 F100's, and the Thai F86's plus the Mickey Mouse C123's.. The ammo dump was just west of this ramp. MM head quarters was on the grassy area just south of the short ramp.there was about five buildings in this area. the tower was on the N.E corner of this small ramp the runnup area blast fence was a small pond in the same area. The long ramp to the south was used as a taxi way there were no buildings down there. our barracks was Upstairs in the first "U" shaped building. No one slept down stairs because of snakes nor went to the latrine for the same reason. the movie theatre was across the road North of the barracks. The Thai BS was south. The chow hall/bs/barber shop/day lounge was next to the barracks with no boardwalk. One day the Aussies came by on a practice straffing run and bombed us with something when the speed brakes. Next day we got even we filled the speed brake area with rolls of toilet paper cut in half and dropped on the Aussies. The aussies called our pilots and told them it looked snow storm when they were dumped. Our guys that releived us found a 16 foot python during a FOD walk on the south end of the runway (Snuffy Smith)
