My Daddy was John E. Odom.. he left me april of 2010
But Yes.. i did love Sam he was a best friend to me. We talked for hours on the phone each week.
not about claims n such.. but about just ordinary daily things of life... and everytime we spoke I laughed! Although he was very sick.. he always exuded a fun and loving persona. He didn't speak of his illness because each and every person that called him was important to him as he was home bound and could not leave unless going to the doctors. It seemed that every time he participated with an event such as birthdays or church or even funerals he would catch pneumonia within a week after he returned home.
His physicians had requested him stay at home until his immune system improved.
So phone calls were like getting a gift to him...
thank you though... It feels good to have the support as i get through this loss.
Anyone who knows a disabled Veteran , please call him or her when you can... You may be the difference in their lives.
