Re: Takhli thailand
Harvey: When were you at Takhli and where did you work? I remember the "ming dah's"--gave a few to tthe Thai's---I do remeber guys collecting them and selling for a Baht! Went to Nakasawan a couple times in 1965 but I don't remember a theatre. Wasn't too much "fancy stuff" from Jul 65-Jul 66. I do remember the theatre in Takhli--saw the James Bond Thunderball film there right before I left in July 66. I do remember getting a "mound" of fried rice"--kaw pt--I think it was called--and a coke for 75 cents--it was enough for 2 people! I did befriend a jeweler in town and I got some great deals! I got a star sapphire & gold necklace for my wife for $10--had it appraised when i got back--jewler told me it was worth over $200! Those were certainly simpler times!! I do remember the 105's, RB-66's and the U2--I don't remember any 106's. Keep the stories coming!! Bob
