Hi Bob, I don,t remember when I got to Takhli, but I do remember we were the first 105 outfit to do in. There was one KB-50 still on the base. The maintenance complex was a few wooden shacks by the flight-line. There were no latrines, just a couple of outhouses next to the complex. No hootches, just the old WWII Japanese barracks. The movie was just a shell with folding chairs and a 16mm projector in the middle on a rickety wooden table. No BX, had to use the Thai BX. The road from the mess hall to the flight-line was a path cut through the jungle. Everybody carried a big stick, or snake-beater, as we celled them. Don't remember the outfit, I think it was the 355th TFW, so 354 Squadron may have been it. I believe the whole wing
had just moved up to Yokota from Itazuke and went from the 8th TFW to the 355th. That's about all for now, keep in touch, John
