I am the publisher of Yankee Air Pirate. We use a game engine to retell stories from the air war in Vietnam. We don't take them from books or Google even though published authors let us use their stories.
I am also a veteran of 238 combat missions.
I found this site looking for Dick Cisco, a Weasel pilot I met once. I guess he has stepped over the side. I was looking for another Weasel story. All our misssions come from a witness but not necessarily a pilot. We have several from Takhli. But we don't do just fighter stories. Any mission that drew blood qualifies. That pretty much includes it all.
Jolly Green, C-130 LAPES drops, helicopter assaults, A2A, Air America...all that stuff.
You can see more by looking at our Gallery at www.yankeeairpirate.net
It's not a shoot-em-up, even though it's plenty violent being about war. It's just story-telling without words. It's commercial because all that stuff costs money. But we never get complaints about the authenticity, quality or entertainment.
Got a story? We'd like to hear it. Remember, when we are gone, the stories are too. You haven't got to be going after the Thai Nguyen Steel mill. Big adventures happen in little moments.
