Adam: I knew your grandfather very well. I took care of his helmet and oxygen mask plus all the other life support gear he used. He was the Vice 355th TFW commander and was flying with the 354th TFS. He took me under his wing--I was 21 years old. You can be proud knowing your grandpa was a true gentleman and outstanding officer who highly respected by all. Do you know he has a plaque on the Memorial Walk at McConnell AFB, KS. I've been to it many times! I was heart broken when after my return to the states in Jul 66 I learned of his loss.
