I was stationed in Thailand in 1964-'65 building a road with the US Army in a jungle area named Pahnom Sarakham. -355 miles of asphalt. During that time, it was forbidden to marry Thai women.
I returned 10 years later and was told by a "Pooying"in Bkk. that my old "TeeLok"(named Dow) was staying in Tahkli. I lived there as a civilian for about 1 year and moved to the Khorat area when the 347th was moved there. I had a blast living in Tahkli during that time. There must have been at least 25 bars in addition to the Crown Hotel. I taught English & Thai to make ends meet and had the nick name "PuYaiLee". I did not have a camera butI have many fine memories. I made friends with several of the Airmen of the 347th in Khorat(Nakonratchisma)and was fortunate to bump into some of the same guys in Las Vegas in 1975.
