I finally saw one in thew Philippines. They may be a geko, but if so they're the biggest ones I have ever seen. My wife an i were exploring old artillery batteries on Grande Islands in the middle of Subic Bay and there was one in the back of an old magazine area. It was about a foot long and dark grey with a purple pattern. My wife is Pilipina and she identified it and told me to stay away from it. It seems that if they bite they lock their jaws and are extermely hard to get off. One more interesting piece of trivia. It is the males that call out "FU". Thew females answer "Uh-uh" No kidding! I heard it for myself on a diving trip to bBtangas in the Philippines.
