Hi. I was stationed at Takhli AFB and was one of the first Americans sent there on a "top dog eight" assignment. We lived in the Japanese built barracks prior to the hootches. I worked with the Air Police and, I guess, we had about 200 Airmen there. Takhli was a small town with only 2 bars: American Bar and the Chinese Bar. That's it. Sure have many interesting episodes and adventure stories of my stay their. My buddy, Jack Zea, and I took off on Feb 7th to celebrate our birthday. Didn't know, but our F105s started bombing N. Vietnam that day while we were out of town (at NakonSawan).
I've a lot of slides taken from that time and have a slide presentation of my stay there. I did meet a girl (puying suway) when I later returned, married her, brought her to Orange County, Calif and built a large apparel mfg company pioneering with companies such as Quiksilver, Offshore, Hang Ten, etc. The story is rather long but fascinating. Many have told me to write a book, but haven't done so. I have more to say but would like a response. Please respond
