Jim, I landed at Ton Son Nhut in 1966,en route to Takhli spent 3-4 hours on the ground. You won't find copies of your pcs travel orders or tdy orders in your military files. They dispose of all travel and pay records. They only show a chronological order of your pcs stations schools etc. promotion orders etc are also dumped.Best kept records are medical records. This was my situation and heard it from a number of other vets. even aircrew flight logs were dumped. Best bet is to get statement from someone who was with you who can document their presence in VN . failing that, get a copy of Taura King's cd , it has letters from AF transport pilots stating is was common practice to stop in VN en route to Thailand. Also, If your AFSC and duties would require TDY's to VN Then describe that situation and see if you can get some backup evidence from buddies or supervisors who were there. I know it's a long shot. This list of all of us who made stops in VN is a good idea and worth a shot. The key is the VA will give you a fair shot if you present a sound, reasonable case although i have read some that I thought were pretty well documented and convincing that were denied outright on some somewhat vague arguments, but then I'm not a legal scholar. Good luck with youe case. Mike Gigli Mike Gigli-Takhli 66
