Today- Saturday 10-7-06 I'm instituting a new procedure to control the junk advertising messages that would take over this open board if allowed to remain online. All messages will now go through an approval step - you will post as you've always done but before the message shows up on the board there'll be a chance for myself or another moderator to view and approve or delete the message. All legitimate Takhli messages will post - as in the past but the ads for Phentamine, Rolex watches, Viagra and the myriad other junk that shows up will be intercepted and deleted. I've been removing them after they post - now they'll be chopped up before they go online. I am in and out of town in my work so there will be some modest delays in seeing your new messages online but most of our traffic isn't too time sensitive and this is sort and easy way to curtail the spam ads. It can also be reversed if it doesn't work out - it's a step short of requiring registratin and passwords - let's see how it works. Thanks Dick Williams Moderator Follow up - Tuesday 10-17-06 - after a couple of weeks of approving each legitimate message and deleting the spam messages I am inclined to stay with this system. Thus you may note a delay in seeing your new message show up - that happens when I'm on the road in my trucking work or just not at the computer. It could be a delay of from a few hours to a few days but the upside is that we won't get extraneous posts with multiple commercial or spam links. To me it's a worthwhile tradeoff.
