In late 1966 a 105 came in with a bomb hung up, as he touched down the bomb came loose. He lit burner and got out of the there while the bomb took out some revetments...per Lt Col Crandall, the base CE at the time. I didn't get to see it...I was Crandall's gopher part of the time..and E4 then..Airman 1c I also remember when they installed something new called an ILS. Two thai pilots were flying it the first time...day VFR. They crashed about a half mile short of the runway...I was not a flyer in those days, but even I knew that was bad. Sorry if I butted in on your post...lots of stories from there....take it easy...Dave
