Thanks Bill for your prompt response - very informative. I think we will travel by train or bus to Takhli if we can find a suitable hotel. Our itinerary consists of a few days each in Bangkok, Phuket and Pattaya. Also a bareboat sail out of Phuket for seven days. We depart SFO 27 Sept and return 17 Oct. I'm interested in your opinion of the Ambassador and the Nova Lodge hotels as we have not yet arranged for accommodations. Thanks again. Paul
