Donna,
Try entering DD Form 149 , Application for Correction of Military Records, in the search engine on your computer. Download the form, fill it out, and attach a copy of DD214 along with any other info that may help. Also, see if you can look up his various outfits to see what awards or citations they received during the time period he was serving in each squadron, etc. Another vet gave me this same info after it worked successfully for him. Good luck
