O'Brien on 12/6/2005, 8:24:39 Sorry it's been so long between messages... 361, after months of rewiring and refurbing of one rotating beacon and outright ourchase of a second new beacon, now sports two fully functional beacons. We're using a "retired" aircraft battery mounted in the original battery compartment wired to the beacons through a switch installed in the nosewheel well. She was one of the stars of the show at the October 2005 Republic Airport open house. Public response to the exhibit has been excellent. We're now back to attacking the canopy job... we've pulled the actuator and were able to determine it is functional, motor runs smoothly. We've been able to get the the actuator running in the opening direction on the bench but have been so far unable to get it to reverse in order to close the canopy. I tried the e-mail address for your group electrician, Ken, but it is no longer valid. Do you have an updated address for him? I haven't tried calling him yet as I wanted to send him a couple of electronic images of the assembly and it electrical connections. My home e-mail address is obart1@optonline.net. I tried to validate my work e-mail address in response to your automatic message at your earthlink address but my company's security policy won't allow it.
