Posted by Wendy Having been hospitalized and diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 1994, I sought out this book at that time to find some answers, comfort and even the slightest relief from a frightening and persistent sensation of wanting to jump out of my own skin! But instead I was surprised and inspired to read this man's vivid story and his beliefs about the relation between manic depression, spirituality, creativity, and the proverbial coming to your knees or being broken in order to discover peace and truth in one's life. Having studied media in college, I don't presume to know you or your pain. But having struggled often with living in my own skin - though I had not read this book in several years - I was struck with the thought one night while watching you on Alley McBeal to get this book to you! I dismissed it as..'What are you, crazy? [errr..yes; that's been well documented..] Next you'll be hanging a picture of him in your bedroom!' But getting back to synchronicity and my faith in intuition, I connected today to look up an address care of which I might be able to mail this book to you but found this site instead. So hope you read this and more importantly-get to read and enjoy the book. It truly gets its 'hands' around the whole concept of 'dis-ease' like little I've seen before. Reading it, an element of a screenplay I'm working on dawned on me: it's no wonder much of the world seeks self-medication of one kind or another-be it drink, drug, material consumption, sex, food..and on and on. So Robert, just like I am known to share worthwhile books with friends of mine, so too am I sharing this one with you. Because you have given me the gift of your creativity (I am digging your singing too, by the way), I do consider you a friend. So Peace!

Robert - if you read this - being a fan of sychronicity, I had an overwhelming desire to send you a copy of the book by Robert E. Kelly titled, 'Manic Depression'. Don't let the title fool you.
