Wilson will wear his Navy uniform in the races and for pictures by fans. Tickets to the races are $5 for one day and $8 for both. There are 70 boats racing in 11 classes. Racing will be between the U.S. 58 business bridge and the Judge Tisdale bypass bridge on a NASCAR-like oval course. On both days, the U.S. 58 Business bridge will be closed from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. for grandstand viewing. Tomorrow night, the racers will greet visitors and fans and answer questions while their boats are on display. Parking is available downtown, with trolleys to take spectators to the viewing areas.
