
Posted by }<)))*> StriperChaser on September 22, 2005, 10:13 pm Buggs Island Lake Buggs Island Bait and Tackle, (434) 374-8934, reports the striper bite is about average with fish hitting on downriggers and bucktails early and late while deepwater trolling Butchers Creek to the dam. Crappie are good in deep water over brush piles, rock piles and bridge pilings on small minnows and jigs. Flathead catfish are hitting at the upper end of the lake with bluecats biting lakewide. Both are hitting shad, minnows, cut and stink bait and clam snouts. White perch and white bass are good at trolling points from the Clarkesville bridges to Buffalo Creek in the late evening. Largemouth bass are in their summer pattern at main lake points in 12 to 25 feet of water, hitting Carolina rigs, plastics and crankbait.
